3 Ways To Easily Get Full Screenshot of A Website (Firefox Add-ons)

Making full screenshots of websites have been a common task for web designers or developers, because sometimes the websites aren't published yet and your clients want to see the full view of your design. Good 'ol Firefox addon developers have created easy to use addons for this purpose, and even more. Lets take a look at 3 Firefox addons we can use to get screenshots of websites:

Add a Todo List in Mozilla Firefox

If you want to get your tasks organized and you want your handy-dandy Firefox to cooperate with your goals, here are two ways to integrate a todo list to your favorite browser:

A. Feature-rich Todo Application

Toodledo is a service that lets you create and manage your todo list. It is a feature-rich web-based application (no need to install fancy software) with all the things you'll ever need with a todo list. You can organize your tasks with Folders, add descriptions to any task, and even share them to others (your boss perhaps?). Good thing you can integrate this service on Firefox as an add-on.

  1. Make a Toodledo account here.

  2. Install the Toodledo Firefox addon here.

  3. Restart Firefox.

  4. On the menu bar, click Tools > Toodledo > Settings...

  5. Insert your username and password, then click Ok.

  6. Click this icon toodledo sidebar to toggle the Toodledo sidebar.

  7. Click the green check icon beside it to add a new task.

B. Quick and Simple Todo List

If you need a very simple todo list, much like a mini-list of tasks, then the Quick Todo List add-on is the one for you. The site describes:
This extension is a simple and quick to-do list show in the statusbar of Firefox. You can easily add things to do in the list. The to-do list is stored in a bookmark folder. Each Entry is a bookmark. So you can easily synchronize your to-do list between your various firefox instances via bookmark synchronization tools such as Foxmarks or Weave.

Although it is an experimental add-on, it is safe enough to install and will be enough to do the job you require. You can get it here.

Make Taskbar Smaller in Windows 7

Windows 7 is the latest version of the Windows operating system created by Microsoft. And one of the interface changes compared to Vista is the taller (bulkier) taskbar. Some like it, and some don't. I feel that the default fatter taskbar eats up some essential screen real estate. Luckily, it is very simple to make it smaller, more like the one Vista has. Here's how to make your windows 7 taskbar smaller (thinner):

  1. Right-click on an empty area on the taskbar.

  2. Click Properties.

  3. Check Use small icons.

That should make your windows 7 taskbar slimmer and sexier! :)

How to Make XAMPP work on Windows 7

If you are running into problems making XAMPP work with Windows 7, try installing it on a different partition (or other physical hard drive if available) where Windows 7 is installed. For me, this worked. I have my Windows 7 installed on drive C while my XAMPP installation is on drive D.

Show File Extensions in Windows 7

If you need to see the file extensions of your files in Windows 7, here is the way to do it:

  1. Open Control Panel from the Start Menu

  2. If your current view is by Category, switch to Small Icons

  3. Click on Folder Options

  4. Uncheck Hide extensions for known file types

  5. Click OK

You should be able to see the file extensions now. Hope this helps!
